I was speaking with someone last week who fitted a used but original equipment Sat Nav to his 99 vogue. Apparantely no problem to fit. CD lives in the o/s boot compartment as does the antenna and he simply switched the dash unit with his old dash.

I just fitted a set ofhe standard Autobiography wheels with tyres to the P38 and they seem to be contacting the arch in access mode with a bit of lock. They are the 18 rather than the 16's I had before. Any help gratefully received!

I've not managed to get round to the side with the outlet on it but I will have a go in the morning and also check the part number. Thanks again.

I am looking at replacing my cloth seats witha set of leather covered seats. The replacements are electrically adjustable and my present ones are not. Does anybody have experience of swapping manual seats for the electric versions and what is needed to acheive this?

I run a standard P38 1996 4.0 but have read about the H & H model. Would be very interested to know more about the spec. I shoot quite a bit so would be particularly interested in the specs that are shooting related. Cheers. Tom

I had the same problem but got a perfect tail gate on ebay for £20 including all the fittings. Cost another £120 to get it colour matched and refitted and it now looks new. According to the bodyshop you cannot repair those corroded bottom lips.

Just looked in my manual folder and the service history is gone! I got the car anbout a month ago and it was there with all main dealer stamps present until the last one at about 70,000 miles. It has been with me since then except for one day when it was at a local bodyshop for a tailgate...

This problem was fixed on my car by LR main dealer just before I got it at a cost of over a thousand quid. I now use an independent ex main dealer garage who claims that the job can be done in a qtr of the time and cost and that LR are overcharging for it. I will check with him.

I use Churchill for my Merc and when I got the P38 they were the cheapest of everyone except for a limited mileage policy with a classic car specialist.

Starting running very lumpily and black smoke smelling like a steam rally. This is a petrol 4.0 not a diesel. Took it to my local specialist and they say it is a faulty O2 monitor and have quoted me £100 plus VAT to replace. I'm sure they are right but has anyone had any experience of this?

I have a split on the drivers seat squab. I have got a new cover (cloth) but LR have quoted 2 hours to fit at £80 per hour!! Has anyone done one of these?

I dismantled the dash and removed the switch and reassembled it. The securing clips at the base which are ridiculously thin had snapped which had allowed the switch to push too far through. Anyway I superglued the unit together as the broken clips wouldn't hold and reassembled the dash and it...

Any idea what can cause the malfunction?

Tried to fill the P38 up just now. The button on the dash depressed and stayed down but the fuel cap stayed shut. That is still the status quo and I am on empty!

What is the real deal as regards mpg on a p38 4.0? Also any tips for a new owner about getting the best mileage from a tank.
