I have an old 4.2 on gas and while it has never let me down one day it did refuse to switch over to gas. Turned out that the inline fuse had blown and when I replaced it it was fine. Don`t expect it can be that easy but worth a look.

I had the same problem on my classic, which I know is not a p38, but I found that the problem was down to the door trim warping a bit and causing the button to bind. I put some light grease on it and it was fine. I know the doors are not the same but it did give all the same symptoms.

I`ve had 2, no real problems but turning circle not too clever. Also had the air suspension go down, the best and cheapest answer was to coil it. the 4.2 is a nice engine but can be thirsty, apart from rear leg room if you need it I would stay with 3.9 and there are more of them.

the seat switch will work if connected to passenger seat all be it by only one connector. But does not move the drivers seat when reattached, I have been able to get 4.85volts reading from the connectors when tested with switch removed, is this right? the motors work if connected to the battery...

Apart from moving the seat and probably heating what is the amount of wiring under drivers seat of classic rangie doing? I have lost use of seat switch, though the switch itself is working and wonder if I can power motors via 4 new switches by uncoupling connector to the motors and replacing...

Sorry, swapping the switch does make the seat move so cant be the switch. I have noticed that the mirrors dont move as well and have read about ECU problems could you tell me what you think. thanks

Thanks for the idea, unfortunately it does make the other seat move, so not the switch. Have heard of ECU problems but dont know what to look for, any advice I do have a donor classic but that had much the same problem.

Thank you, the odd thing is that the drivers seat will move or at least try to with the key off and while all the motors seem to work it does not move in any direction which seems strange. Any further thoughts?

New problem. Electric front drivers seats will not move, but you can hear the motors trying to do their thing. My problem is: 1- why cant the motors move the seat, have tried to apply gentle pressure in the direction I was hoping it would go in case it was stuck, no help. 2-the drivers seat...
