Hi all, I want to convert my Defender 90 200Tdi to a V8. Would it be best to try and source the parts and start the conversion or would it be better to try and find a donor car? The 200Tdi engine and gearbox in my 90 are very good and i might be tempted to swap these for the right V8 engine...

My god that chassis was f*cked!! Also the rear axle radiusarm mounting points look really scary! When i compare this to the state of my D-reg 90 I count myself quite lucky it is still very good.

How do i tell what way is up?? Did not know they had a top and a bottom side!

Original equipment is just a lap belt. They are bolted to a strong metal tube you mount to the rear tub. I have this exact setup in my 1986 90.

Many use Volvo seats. (they are by no means hip, but offer very good comfort) IF for an MOT the seats sould be able to move it will only apply to the drivers seat. As in my Lotus Elise the passenger seat is fixed in its position ;-)

The axles on the car are, i think, the original ones. They both have quite some play in the diffs and the front axle leaks a bit from one of the outer seals. This than drips on the disc brake... When changing the rear axle i will have disc brakes on the rear aswell. I know it might be overkill...
