Lumpy tickover and juddering at speed

I had a similar problem, spent hundreds changing components, pump, battery, etc etc. Fixed with Wynns Fuel-Dry, about £7 from Halfords. (I had also tried injector cleaner, made no difference). Might be worth a try - I was amazed when it actually worked. I had the problem for 3 month, but has...

Now wondering if to sell - or not

Sods law, after buying a set of new tyres (Gen Grabber AT's) I have an offer of new car but not sure I can afford to keep the trusty P38 DSE - yes trusty !! after the new head an hundreds of pounds of other bits it has been perfect for the last 15000 miles so reluctant to sell. Anyone know the...

    Anyone tried General Grabber AT's

Well they are on ! Only done about 60 miles so far but initial impressions are very good. Quiter than my road biased MAXXIS that I had before. Grip seems fine on road and cornering/braking. In fact the ride is very smooth. Yet to try off road but happy reading reviews that I shouldn't worry...

'Bumping' when turning corners slowly - L322 Range Rover

Well it may be co-incidence, but when my tyres were worn I got this bumping, particularly on full lock. It was as though the wheels were not exactly in alignment. In fact the tracking was also out a little, maybe I had run up a kerb as well I don't know, anyway it made a difference to the...

'Bumping' when turning corners slowly - L322 Range Rover

I had this on another car - not a RR. It was tracking out on one side. Due to tyres wearing the tracking was no longer perfectly aligned on both sides. So what was happening was one front wheel was turning slightly out of alignment with the other, hence the bumping. Best to get this checked...

    Anyone tried General Grabber AT's

Well the update is no AT's available anywhere, all on back order. :( So in General Tyres I can get AT2 or HTS or UHP, or Khumo KL51s Anyone got experience of any of these ? I don't want to get sliding in deep snow if we get some this year again (I live in a very rural area), and...

Not satisfied with the level of unreliability.

I recently got rid of my company car Z4 after 3 years. Always 100% reliable & v cheap to run. Service from first dealer was ****e - except they smashed an X5 into the front at the first service so lent me an M version for 3 weeks. Other dealer was fine. But I have to say it was a great car...

    Anyone tried General Grabber AT's

I have one tyre problem and need a new one but they are old Maxxis & I can't get a replacement. SO have been thinking of replacing with a pair of Gen Grabber AT's on the back & another pair later to match on the front. Has anyone tried these yet. I am told the old AT2's have been discontinued...

P38 2.5 DSE help water pump removal

IT'S FIXED ... I decided to use a bit of common sense, i.e. I know the pump was broken, so how could it be anything else, also I was pretty sure I had got to all of the bits. So I just had another go. Header cap off, I pumped the right hand hose from the rad I after a while I could feel the...

P38 2.5 DSE help water pump removal

Yes - especially as I've already changed the head once ! But I want to make sure it is the rad first, I've swapped quite a few bit in the past only to find they weren't the cause of the problem.

P38 2.5 DSE help water pump removal

Well I got a new pump from P38 spares and... the impeller is made of metal not plastic !!! All fitted & no drips but... the water is not circulating:( I don't think it is the thermostat as the heater is not warming up either and that should happen even before the thermostat opens...

Thanks Wammers just the job, I'll order one today, could have used that a few times in the past, better than my screwdriver with magnetic tip. Might try it on the cat when he's swalllowed hair-balls ;)

Datatek - thanks for the reminder I just checked & there were 2 pieces right inside. My hands are not big but I could only touch them with the end of my finger. Managed to get them out with latex gloves & a dab of superglue - see attached pic :)

Ha ha very good. I had a quote from my local LR dealer £140  but only £98 if I can part exchange  So just ordered one from P38 spares - £39 + P&P How can LR justify that price, they can't honestly say their part is worth £100 more :D

P38 2.5 DSE help water pump removal

Well I decided not to wait, especially as I had to change the head some time ago, I wanted to know the cause of my overheating now. THis is what a knackered waterpump looks like !! Phew !

P38 2.5 DSE help water pump removal

OK thanks. I have some PlusGas which is a better releasing agent than WD40, so I'll give it a squirt tonight than a whack with a hammer in the morning.
