I have always known these were available at factors, have been for years. But they were kept pretty low key and unless you were known to them you did not get one. As a matter of fact if you were not in the trade you did not get served at all. Times have changed. :(:(
 
problem is

crims don't need them and they know carrying this is "equipped to commit a crime"

most car crims now break in using nothing more than tiny piece of stone at the window until it shatters, and this is just mixed into the fluff and lint in their pocket when a copper stops a searches a known car crim

but agree – not a very responsible thing to be selling
 
They also do a shim pack for Pad locks, I have one in the garage somewhere - you slide in each side of the lock whatever curved shim fits in the padlock you are trying to remove – and padlock just falls off like it was unlocked

Snap-on used to sell these kits on the vans years ago, with instructions unfortunatly tho instructiions were for Yank cars!
 
The uninitiated to using a slim-jim will most likely be slotted through the forehead if they ever try it on a car with door airbags. Boom, rocket, whoosh.............splat!
 
Very dissapointed to see them being sold openly to anyone. I mean, the advert says sold on the provision that it is used lawfully, like that'll put off any criminals.
 
Does say for 'Professional use only', so re-assuring that unprofessional crims won't be able to buy them!!:ballchain:
