Good Job!!! It was always on the cards.....natural progression....and ur head ruled too doing all the checks....

As for me, gonna hopefully go for a Diesel D3 (don't hurt me), can get right specs and miles for right price....
 
Seems to me like a lot of car for not a lot of money. Considering I paid 7k for my P38 two and a half years ago (one owner 70k miles all main dealer stamps). I don't have the lpg but only do 5000 miles a year. Still, would be so tempted if I came across a similar L322 to this. Just hope the gearbox is well maintained, it sounds like it should be :)

The BMW M62 is a fantastic engine.. and I do like the looks of the L322 externally (but still not as classy as the P38, IMO).. However, I really don't like the interiors of 'em...

Something went horrifically wrong with car interior design around the early 2000's IMO... gone were the previous, gentle curves and majestic slopes, to be replaced by slab-sided squareness... condition aside, I'd take a P38 interior over the L322's anyday.

Personally I detest the dash on the L322, lots of unclear fiddly controls, more lights on the dash than Concord, very distracting at night, a real dogs breakfast:(
 
That's very nice, I've had 5 LPG cars and never had a single problem with the gas, I'll have another V8 soon enough!
 
To my most esteemed LZ Friends...

Having had the night to sleep on it (well I say sleep as I am currently like a kid near Christmas..!!), I feel a little less nervous about it all....

I had a good chat with the Girlfriend last night as my nerves are not based on buying the car, and not so much on the fueling costs, but more the sudden 'Oh, whats that waring light mean??' nerves.....

It is well known that you can replace all 4 EAS Bags for under £300 on the P38 whereas a single bag on the L322 is just as much....

But I greatly appreciate all your very kind messages of applaud and encouragement on my most recent moment of madness....

As many have said, a Vogue on gas for a hair over the £7k mark is amazing value, and I at first didn't believe it, which is why I just had to go and have a look.

All the paperwork stacks up, and I gave a call to a local Main Dealer this morning to check the history, which they confirmed it has been to see a dealer at around the required service intervals, and that yes the engine was replaced at 112k miles, at a cost of £5,600 odd, but they wouldn't tell me why.....no matter, it has only done 25k miles on gas so should be clean and just about run in by now!!

I did ask the chap selling it why he is selling it so cheap, and he said the car doesn't owe him anything, the guy who brought it in part ex'd it fairly cheaply on a 2010 S Class Mercedes which he made a killing on so he can off load the L322 and free up space for a snip....

Once again, many many thanks for your very kind words....once I pick it up later next week - I'll let y'all know how life is - Anyone got a number for a good Butler supplier???

Nice job Saint. Sounds like a real bargain.sie you will have some issues I'm sure, but the RR has some of the most extensive user forums of any car. Bookmark island 4x4 for your spares and you'll be fine.
 
Slight bit of jealously me thinks :D

Old and old fashioned maybe, jealous never. I have 2 mates with L322's, I can't see anything to like about them especially the cost of parts compared to my P38:p
But then I only have a Range Rover cos it was cheap, they are all crap:rolleyes:

Looks great and as long as it has no electrical niggles it should be fine.

I recently bought a 3 yr old Jag XK to complement my P38 and felt the same.
I felt nervous at the extra fuel over my previous 35mpg + daily use.

I honestly now don't care about the fuel as it costs just over £10 more over about 300 miles and it puts the biggest smile on my face.

I'd of done the same. Those petrol L322's do approx 18 to the gallon.
The high mileage, in my opinion, is less risk than the low mileage, as the gearbox has passed the 60,000 problem stage, new engine, gas kit.
The L322 is far superior to the ageing P38's, in fact,there's no comparision.
As far as i'm concerned, it's a good buy.
