SteveD makes a good point on Memory cards, high street retailers and those with internet sites are safe to buy sd cards, a lot of FAKE cards are floating round on ebay. Fake cards are both troublesome and do not have stated capacities and tend to lose data or fail.

MPH works on mine. Put a Toshiba 16gb class 10 in mine and seems fine.

Sort of got some editing software (Openshot-Ubuntu) sorted and easy enough to use but comes with dozens of options when exporting and I haven't a clue which to use. The couple I've tried either won't play or I lose quality (on the sound mostly). Haven't got as far as trying to upload to Youtube or Photobucket yet.

Hi Beasty, speed /GPS imprint on screen can be turned off in settings and youtube will accept upload type.(for laning)

One thing I did find was youtube decided to fix non existant shake and warped video-reverted to raw video and fine.

if your using ubuntu I will look at editing software options and post suggestions this evening

Right,

When you order again Fanny can you get me a car hardwire kit (I think they come in 3m and 5m, 3m is better but 5m will do) and a spare GPS base please :)

Cheers for that but seeing as I haven't got a f***ing clue what 'untarring a bundle' is I'll stick with Openshot and try and work out how to export without losing quality

Have a look in software centre some of the options should be there.

to untar use extract/archive manager right click on file.

Beasty you say using computer editing suite the editor degrades video, could it be that settings are such that it is encoding at a lower quality or different format?

If you you get really stuck we can try team viewer so I can see what is happening on the software your using or it may simply be software encoding glitch and alternative software may encode better.

I'm sure I'll get it sorted, it's the sound that's breaking up. I think I just need to go through the different file type options when exporting and see what works. Ordinary playback is fine and when it's being edited.

hang on PM incoming
