HI Guys, im still looking around for my 1st disco, one i looked at today the inner wings were..well almost non existent as expected

The rear bumpstops over rear axle that are on chassis...plates were there but no rubber

would this pass an MOT like this (untl i get round to the work)

also few other little bits

passenger door, needed the key in the door turned to open door other wise once you pulled handle it locked itself?

The rear door (boot) didn't lock

other than that it seemed fairly straight, its a 1995m reg, with 170k

full service history however looking at the sh booklet no mention of a cam belt being done that i could see..

heres a linky

1994 LAND ROVER Discovery 300 Tdi

the other i looked at today needed passenger sill, body work was scabby but no big dints completely standard, 1 owner fsh (non landy), 108k, cam belt is due (been done once  ) has 12 mots mot tax till jan but wanted 1600 (no link for this one) both 3 door, both 300tdi

any feedback advice?

cheers

also forgot to mention, i couldnt seem to get the transfer box to go from high to low, would go left to right but not up and down, the gear box is the one where revers is right and back, is this an easy fix?

keep looking! it's a mine field out there, prices all over the place, your nearly better going for a private seller as a dealer will want more, and if you know what you are looking for as in rust, chassis sills boot floor etc, either way the warranty from the dealer isn't going to stand for much, look and look!!! and good luck!!

definate fail

i bought a 200tdi fsh , cambelt due , l reg with all rust repaired and in preety tidy work 12months mot no tax , £800

No it will definately not pass an MOT inner wings are part of it but you can get repair sections for them, also lift the carpet and look at the boot floor and all round underneath especially sills and body mounts if its rusty it will be rusty everywhere lol

the right inner wing is part of the MOT, the left isnt.

the reason why the right one is, its because its near the brake pump and battery box

that isnt completely true - if there are any holes near the body mount either side, it will fail.

Im sorry you are wrong, the servo is on one side and the slave cylinder is on the other, if there is any rot within 300mm it will fail i know because mind failed on both sides for that reason
