The other day I was parked on ann uphill slope and in the morning noticed anti-freeze Dripping out of the rear drivers side door.
Oh **** thats a heater matrix needs replacement .
I reckon that must be the worst job you can attempt on a P36 as all the console and any other plastic piece of **** has to be removed and if you can get away without breaking any your lucky.
Any tips that might make the job easier? or does anyone else know of a worse job?

I would try changing o-rings before changing matrix, fidly but doable in place without dash removal.

There are lots of bad jobs. But by far the worst thing you can do to a P38 is fit it with coil springs. It's like putting one of your own kids in a home because your parenting skills are crap.

You finished that yet Keith?

Not started yet LOL. Car is still running! Still thinking about the best way forward. I have a secondhand box but it has 162K on it. Not sure I want to fit it and have it fail. Might take the old box to Ashcrofts for an exchange then fit that.
Pit is nearly done so I can't put off looking at it for much longer:eek:
