Afternoon well got into o rings this afternoon once I had a proper look in daylight and that was an odd experience as I did most of this at night with lights - there was a drip a steady drip from the oring so dismantled and put new orings on and there was a drip now I am wondering if I should put both sets of orings on the old ones were in really good shape which made me wonder if the clamp had never been tightened up any ideas please oh and the bottom seal on the rad is suspect so will put another new one on and lastly ran her all day whilst I was doing bits and pieces and temp stayed absolutely dead centre and she is running very nicely indeed
Doubling up the O rings won't fix it. You need to ensure the surfaces the O rings mate to are clean and that you get the screw good and tight, a socket head is the best. You sure it's not the matrix leaking?

I will have another go tomorrow think I may just pull the whole unit out and see I suspect that it is the mating surfaces as you say and that I need to replace the screw pref with a hex head then I can get it tight - don't suppose you would know what it s the screw that is
Anyway at least I am moving forwards and not under the car in the cold:)

It's M5 X 30 or 40mm long. Use a stainless socket head (Allen) screw if you can.
I have a few lying around and could pop them in the post FOC on monday if you PM me.

:behindsofa:

No PM yet.
All I need are your name & address details....NOT HERE !!...in a PM and I will post them 1st class monday morning,
You will need a 4mm allen key for them, preferably one with a ball end. which makes it easier to install or remove.
:)

Got your PM.

I can't remember if the screw is 30 or 40mm long so one of each will be sent. The thread is definately M5..I can remember that bit !!!

Just a thought, had to do my O rings couple weeks ago and remember that the pipes had a notch in them and had to locate just right in the matrix. Might be worth checking.
