Batteries go flat for various reasons. But if you're having trouble with the EAS dropping over night, look at the EAS delay relay under the passenger seat. This wakes the EAS every six hours to self level. If it is doing it too often that maybe the answer to both your problems. If it's duff it is a known battery flattener.

Right wammers this sounds like the problem as it seems to be waking up whenever a door is shut etc, plus the battery going flat in a few days, so where under the seat is the bugger? do I have to take the seat out? do you have a pic of it? and will the eas still work if I take this relay out? does it need to be there at all as I'm happy for the car to not level itself when I'm not using it!!!
hope it's easy to get to by foot!!

Don't think it will work without it mate. It is supposed to level when you get out and close a door. When your in the car or it's loaded more air is put in the bags to set it back to selected ride height allowing for the weight. When you get out it the car rises because of the extra pressure, it will level for 20 seconds or so to expel the excess air and return it to selected height. It then is supposed to wake up every six hours to level to lowest corner if there is a say a leak in one bag. But it should not be dropped more than 5mm at a time. 15mm drop in 24 hrs is acceptable according to the book. It is under the passenger seat big relay sticking up at L/H side, you may need to take side trim off to get the footsies to it.

what colour is it?? and is there any way of testing it ? is it the only relay there?? might pull it and see what happens!!

Black, you can't miss it stuck up like Blackpool tower. No way of testing i know of.
 
found it, pulled it out and your right it blocked me out and said 35mph! and it still won't go up until you drive down the road for a mile or so, then once up it behaves, driving me bonkers now! could this be anything to do with the darn relay too??? it was all behaving but it's started being silly now, :mad:

Finally got a new relay, seems to have cured everything, only goes down now if I park it on very unlevel ground and goes straight up in the morning, no delays at all, who'd have thought all these issues were down to 1 relay!, and typically now I have just got all the software etc I have no need to plug it in! just as well as my laptop battery is naff,,

Now I need to stop the display beeping at me about the windows, I tried to set them as the book says but can't seem to set front ones, any ideas guys?? I been winding down then up, is there another better way??

All the way down and hold the button for 5 seconds, then immediatly all the way up and hold the button for 5 seconds, should then bleep and say window set.

done it thanks, so easy and so much better now, 2 second job and no annoying beeps, your a star!!
 
Best place to get a relay ? might be worth changing mine before the issues, relays are a pain in my industry and cause many intermittent problems.

Do we really need the EAS to self-level every 6 hours after the vehicle is parked and switched off?

What is the original logic behind this? I cannot see the need for self-leveling after stopping, but then I could be missing out on something.

The EAS on my vehicle works as it should but I have failed to find a single moment when self-leveling works to any advantage.

I am on the verge of doing some very simple re-wiring whereby the EAS is completely disabled the moment ignition is switched off.

If you do mod it and you have a very small leak on one corner, it will end up at a very funny angle with the leaking corner on the bump stop and the diagonally opposite corner up in the air.

WTF do you feel the need to interfere with a system you obviously do not understand?
