Bought mine because it came up cheap, had a P38 and an Isuzu Bighorn previously and fancied another 4x4. That and size makes the defender a very uncomfortable option for me haha. Rolled over to 208,000 miles yesterday and still going strong. Just needs that extra 50 odd ponies to lug it up hills and make towing easier

Bought mine cus I love them always have and always will. It's like driving a tank and I need a tanker following me to refuel. The mrs wants me to sell it and it's on fleabay at min but unless someone does a buy it now I'm keeping it. Hope she don't use LZ or I'm dead :)

I bought a Disco because my wife made me. She was fed up of not being able to open her business in the bad snow (and we've had plenty of that over the last few winters) so she made me buy one. I said i'll only get one if it was a tidy one.....result. The trick is to make them think it's all their idea to begin with.

Bought mine on a whim. Thinking it may snow here, and the 3 Mercs, CAR, & M/home might not like going out in bad weather, so hedging the bets s little. Nice Disco though. Got all the gadgets plus good tyres and tow hook, with MoT & Tax for few months. If not what I like will be selling for Merc ML

Loadspace, ground clearance, repairability, winter use, fits in local car park, masochism, driveway too clean, J**p rusted through, still had tools from SIII days.

I destroyed a decent disco some years back, abserlutley abused it but i wish i never cos i cant seem to find one as good. I have two at the moment both off the road and i intend to have one of them back on the road a.s.a.p, after new brakes n suspension.

They are a very capable vehicle and i prefer the 200 tdi.

My p38 is up for sale.

I bought my latest - "Dixie" - after having a long line of Disco's of various sorts.

I really love the blend of everyday practicality, superb ability off-road, fantastic towing strength, cheap parts and easy to work on.

They are just great: current one is a 1998 ES auto, but with the injection pump changed for a manual one. Obviously de-catted and de-EGR'd plus pump mod. And good body !!!!!

Just love 'em !

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.:d:d

lol, weren't a dig  (just realised ......)

let be honsest, yer get a tratter to stick a couple o hay bales and a sheep int back of, and aquire a bad back driving and a smacked elbow steering, besides getting ****ed on wi water and cowd wi temperature, yer get a disco to stick a bale o hay ont back seat an a sheep int back, get to drive in relative comfort of a reclining seat and tepid warm air, an the possibility of getting ****ed on wi water.
an more practice wi a welder..
