Hayling Island. It's a pain taking it off of the island. Anybody know any nearby greenlanes?

Yup I’m getting to hitting up the intro section I’m at work. Will drop a message in there ASAP.
Cheers for the offer!I island hop every day for work, it's not that bad
There are a few local lanes, but seasonal TROs are in place, I have to triple check but there are some lanes in Hampshire that are going to get a perm TRO on them.
GLASS is a good shout, SADLRC & ShiresLRC are also good to join, both have regular meetings and green lane runs and inevitable play days, there are some local'ish but others are a bit of a trek if you're worried about driving home damaged beware!
Which end of the island are you? I'm West town end, if you ever need a hand giz a shout.
Cheers for the offer!
I see a red defender go flying off the island every morning, there's also a really battered (maybe blue or red who knows, could be paint, could be rust) Defender pickup over by west town, often parked at the Barley Mow or church.
My only concern with going farther afield is slow speeds on the motorways. I'll get used to it eventually. I'll checkout those when i finish work.
TROs?
Ah that is an option, i could just use slower roads, just far less direct. Fortunately i don't commute in the landie. Not guilty, I got a works fiesta van lol
Motorway speeds are no drama, just don't use them, I used to in the LWB pickup I had, but only because the 2.6 6 cylinder engine was good on fuel and ate motorway miles at a steady 60 without too much noise.
TROs are Traffic Restriction Orders, they put them in place on some routes to advise of out of season or permanently to stop motor vehicles full stop, often the latter without any consultation with the people most affected by their closure.
Don't talk about developers, they built the Oysters just at the back of my place and last year Barratts had a presentation on their "proposed" (read as we're just pre'warning you of what we're going to do now and show you pretty pictures so you might not get too distressed) new development on the Sinah lands next to the Hayling Billy trail, another 162 houses at the far end of the island turning West lane into an even bigger hazard with drivers of German built cars that refuse to move over, bad enough with the new lot that moved in but adding another 200+ cars is lunacy!Ah that is an option, i could just use slower roads, just far less direct. That sounds typical of council/government BS. Bit like the fields on the island getting built all over. They say will listen and our points are valid, will just go with the developers anyway though.
Also go on the Hampshire rights of way website, but Do Not Go out on Your Own!
That god awful old peoples home in St Mary's Road is going to make driving hell. The free car park by the bottle bank will just end up filled with pensioner-wagons parked across 2 bays. Poor parking in the COOP annoyed me enough when i worked there. Now that i'm parking a goddamn land rover without power steering perfectly in the spaces and seeing people double parking tiny little cars is infuriating.Don't talk about developers, they built the Oysters just at the back of my place and last year Barratts had a presentation on their "proposed" (read as we're just pre'warning you of what we're going to do now and show you pretty pictures so you might not get too distressed) new development on the Sinah lands next to the Hayling Billy trail, another 162 houses at the far end of the island turning West lane into an even bigger hazard with drivers of German built cars that refuse to move over, bad enough with the new lot that moved in but adding another 200+ cars is lunacy!
I've seen a few LRs on the island, hope they all waxoyl regular with the salt in the air LOL
Heaven forbid we turn into Havant 2.0.
If that happens i'll be afraid to even take my shoes off at night for fear of them being pinched. They're hoping we won't notice becoming Leigh park 1.5
