Original loom from LR is used (pricey stuff to be honest - 150 pounds for couple of wires and 2 boxes)

, just a slight mod was needed, because stock hole for windscreen loom is used by PTC harness, so I need to re-route wires to plenum camber.
Then fit a switch in to centre console (all wires from switch to CCU and engine compartment are in place), and it works :)

Here you can hear what is the difference between soundproofed panels and stock. Doors are done, rear quater not:

It's always a pleasure to see what you've been working on with your Freelanders. Great pictures (and mods) as ever!

Does the sound proofing seems like it's making a difference in cutting down the noise? Are you putting it into the roof too?

Jim

Yes, difference is huge - especially in 3 door car - because it have... nothing for soundproofing :D . Less road noise, better ICE sound, better thermal comfort, and no sound of opening can when close/open doors ;)
Roof is also coated with 2 layers of sound proof materials - body roof and hardtop.

2 and 2,5 mm rubber butyl mats with alloy on top, 3&6mm rubber foams (water resistant)

In doors you got 2 layers in outer skin (2,5 mm mat and 6 mm foam) , doors are closed with 2,5 mm mat (as substitute of door water shedders), and 3 mm foam on door cards.

So... go go go :D :p

Hmmm.... empty space, one layer of steel... "beng beng" + sh#$! speaker

So, details are so important in project cars - so here we got a targa roof carrier bag in a leather (cloth is misfit for leather interior). Made for order based on LR cloth one ;)
