Hope it goes really well, and enough bums on pews to cover costs. I really do think a southern event would be well supported if it ever did come to pass, I know several down here who would be up for it, but just cant face a trip to Leics.

We had long hard discussions about locations ....because members come from all over the UK ...it was an impossibility to try to accommodate everyone. A central England location appeared to be a good necessary compromise.

The difficulty with regional venues are the numbers game. ...whilst lots of people down sarf might attend ...you would exclude the people from anywhere north of the Midlands. Im sure if the numbers made it a financially viable option then it'd be considered.

Can't reiterate enough beasty's comments about the stonking loss we made last year. This event has to be self funding for it to continue...if people don't show up in numbers it just won't happen. ...it can't.

We have to have a reasonable indication of ticket sales as early as possible to know that the event is viable. I appreciate that people often don't or can't commit to a weekend too far in advance but my concern is that if numbers of tickets sold don't cover our big costs which have to be committed to six weeks or so in advance ...then we might have to say its too big a financial risk for accy and roy to carry and it might be called off.

I soooooo hope that people rally behind this event. ....it was cracking last year and this year aims to be better.:)

just tell me when i can buy my ticket :)

I appreciate that, anywhere away for more than a night was a rarity when I was a lad.

Roy is setting up the tickets as we speak (I hope) and if it's similar to last year then they can be bought online until the last minute.

Having said that it's urgent that people make a solid commitment to this and wherever possible buy well in advance.

We made a big loss last year that Accy and Roy covered personally. Despite rumours LZ barely covers it own costs so a loss isn't an option. I know Accy and Roy really want this to be a yearly event and if together we can make a success of it then it would be wonderful to look at the possibility of regional events. I'm sure it's possible, with enough support I know a nice spot in South Somerset ;)

Not sure of the implications for such a site that has so many members but why not start membership fees? I'm a rep for bandit owners club n we pay £15 membership a year, for this we get the forum, the help etc that people offer, rideouts n meetings and discounts off club sponsors etc. We also had a stand/marquee at the bmfs and as an exhibitor you got a reduced fee for the weekend. We have a national every year that's held in different locations and this is free to members and includes free food on the sat night, the membership and merchandise we sell through the years pays for that, i for one would pay to be a member on here its a fantastic site and the help I've received n friends I've made would be worth it (that's why I've paid the £5) :)

Yeh wot she says.. it'd be well worth it just to get the Landy info that's on here.. hell I'll pay just to hear the tightwads whinge about it and turn it into a political discussion lol..

I've saved more than that in good advice through this forum. Besides, how else would I be able to follow such gems as Yellow, Spirit, LG and others?

Ah, that might be a little tricky, we have to pay the site per vehicle but no extra for caravans.

Might have to try some negotiation, will it be 2 adults?
