Yup. The clutch was tappy when i got the landy and when theu took it out it was still like new but they fitted the new one just in case and this one is the same. About 1500 miles ago it had the gearbox reconed and a new clutch fitted apparently which is why im so annoyed about it keep fecking up on me

did tapping go when clutch depresssed, the only tapping i can think off you get from clutch is when clutch springs ae loose or you have heavy duty one fitted

The tapping stops when its pressed :)
presume you had heavy duty one fitted or a cheap one, they can settle over time and tapping reduces ,raising revs should stop tapping too, it was a big complaint in the 90s and clutch plates were altered to give better damping at idle

would need more info to narrow it down ie clutch slips or starter kicks out seems different ,your symptoms could be warn alternator bearing and worn A frame ball joint ,amongst many others

It would be typical of it to be something that will cost a fortune. The landy garage charges a £45 investigation fee

I had a new clutch fitted and a new oil seal behind the fly wheel fitted the engine badly vibrates and the gearbox is whining since the work was done
