Hi All, dont know if this is the right section but after selling my L322 im after a rr sport. So TDV6 or TDV8 diesel???

Both engines have there problems egr are common remember they have two of them the fuel pump belt and cam belt is due at 105k on the tdv6.

The tdv6 is a 2.7 and the v8 is a 3.6 depends if you want/need bragging rights of you got a v8.

All I will say is I hope you have deep pockets as things are stupidly expensive and everything electrically is main dealer work most jobs will need to be on a ramp. And yes some jobs require body off to do them but there are shortcuts and work arounds. Just expect huge bills when things go tits up and they will.

Tdv8 would be the one I'd go for in the vogue

I wouldn't buy a sport or disco 3 though

Both very similar with their faults

Thanks for all the advice.... Sold the l322 and bought a nissan gtr.... Just got my 3rd on the way so bye bye to the mrs Mini Cooper and she doesn't want a l322 again, we was looking at the disco because of 7 seats but prefer the sport. All cars have issues and I'm not buying anything with over 50k on the clock so hopefully 30k of fault free driving.... Just don't know which engine is stronger and better

They don't do the tdv8 on the discovery as far as I know
They did a v8 petrol though ?!? I think ..

I'd opt for the tdv8 eitherway IMO

Or get a 4.4 TDV8 :D

Disco come with a 2.7 v6 early ones, the later are 3.0 v6 the sports has the 2.7v6 early models, later one 3.0 and the 3.6tdv8 I dont think they come with the bigun the 4.4 v8 diesel now that is a engine you wouldnt believe how responsive it is and how it picks up and go.

What year are you looking at getting????
