Discovery for me, I know Defenders are more capable but theyre expensive, an uncomfortable too. Discos are almost as capable off road better on road comfier cheaper, and just as tough.

Very good points, and a valid argument, although I own a disco I think there is no escaping the fact that the defender better defines what the whole idea of a Landrover is all about, they are not about being comfortable, not about being good on the road, but about being the benchmark offroad machine, in those cases the disco just cant compete with a Defender 90 - IMHO, and the newer 90's are not really that nasty, having driven plenty of Series in the Army I would agree completely tho :D, the Army Wolf in fact does all the things the Disco does but 10x better, again IMHO :) ( excuse the 10x better exaggeration :p )

Unless your into extreme offroading. A disco will do everything a 90 will do, and do it just as easily. I was in a very modded, lifted, 300TDi engined 90 this weekend and we had a completely standard 200tdi Disco in the group. It managed Gatescarth Pass better than the 90 did. The reason? The huge wheels on the 90 completely bollixed his turning circle. and Gatescarth is a very very twisty climb. we had to shunt most of the turns at least once and sometimes twice. While the disco managed every turn in one go. Don't get me wrong the 90 was an awesome machine and once the track straightened up it couldn't be faulted. But this was one circumstance where the disco was better than a 90.

And before you say owt else I've owned disco, 110, and 90's. So I'm not in the least bit biased towards any one vehicle

In fully standard trim with the same type of tyres. A disco will still go everywhere a 90 will go.

I seriously disagree with that, a standard Disco will not go all the places a standard 90 will go, the overhangs and extra weight for a start make that impossible.....I appreciate your passion for the Disco, and I love mine as well :)
