Finally killed my 3.5 v8 auto hybrid on efi flapper (last heard rattling its tits off down M62 heads/gaskets fooked compression readings worse than my school report)

Got a 3.5 on carbs for a couple of quid off mate .... seemsnicely set up and all good

Current (knackered) set up is on LPG through Blos carb used as a toy for greenlaning only petrol only used for starting and emergency when I cant find gas....

Hate electrics and quite happy to stick with carbs but just wondering....

Current efi will have a high pressure fuel pump.... I know if you swap from carbs to efi then you need to replace Low with High but if I go other way will I need to put LP pump in or will HP do for its very limited use??????

Any other probs I might run into???

you can use a fuel preasure regulator

I presume efi has a fuel return line so get a regulator with a return

Cheers fellas.... Now just trying to identfy carbs.... Look like SU to me but long time since I had anything with carbs on.... got a tag on with following

FZX 2005L

6 WK706

can do piccys later

just disconnect power to intank pump and mount a low pressure facet pump in line you will still need return line with carb set up as the V8 has a flow and return system , to help prevent vapourizing You should be able to swap your electronic dizzy into the new motor .

yes as above, a facet pump will be cheeper than a regulator man enough to rejuce that kinda preasure down , you would have to have pipe unions and braided pipe to be safe

Cheers all.... just going for a crawl round underneath now.... when I gt it it had best part of 4 full wiring looms left in place so you never know maybe a LP pump still in place
