200tdi engine with what seems quite a bad oil leak, I’m just not to sure if it’s from the rocker cover or else where. What do you guys think?

I’ve stripped turbo and inlet off already to give it a good clean up

It’s a new purchase so not sure how long it’s been leaking but I’m looking to get it sorted ASAP

Most likely rocker cover, its a rubber gasket and 2 little half moons that i think also need sealer applying.
You'll find the RAVE download very helpful as it's new to you

That my son is not an oil leak, it is a very old oil weep hence the spread, as said the D seals are junk, new rocker cover and D seals and see what develops, there is always a wet patch on a 200 somewhere.
D seal faces need to be spotless, and sealalnt applied, not cheap bathroom silicone but quality sealant.

The gaskets and seals are cheap, buy twice as many as you need, as they need replacing everytime they are removed.

Brake cleaner is the nuts for cleaning, buy in 5 litre bottle from ebay (15 quid delivered) and a pump up spray bottle to apply it.

Ps whilst you are in there, check the little female spade fitting on the starter solenoid (white wire) mine has come loose a couple of times, and they are almost impossible to get at with the manifolds on.
