Hi All

First may I wish all forum members a Happy new year.

I recieved a 2KG powder fire extinguisher for a christmas present and was wondering where is the most practical place to mount it in a 1997 300 TDI 90, ie ease of access, out of the way etc.

All suguestion welcomed along with pics if possible.

I know this leaves thread me open to all sorts of verbal abuse, please be kind:D

battery box below the passenger seat. or on top of the bulkhead behind seats. or on bulkhead between seats. if you only have 2 seats fitted in front. Failing that in the back close to the back door

got one in the 110 - behind the chubby box attached to the rear bulkhead with a quick fist type rubber clamp

no point having it where you have to fight to get at it

OK thanks for the sugustion will check them out.

Can you mount it Horizontally or does it have to be vertical?

Front of passenger seat/battery box - next to isolator - kill 2 birds at once!

Horizontal is fine Just make sure pin is secure or you end up setting it off accidentally.

Just rember its dry powder, to take off mount and agitate it so you can feel powder move at least once a month, as they tend to compact thru vibration if left in one position for long periods. Then when you need it it does not work as it should

i got mine behind driver seat but iff it for off roading try bolting the holder to the bottom of the dash it works for my freind who goes off roading alot.

HI Tacr2man

Thanks for that advice

Heard that before from my brother in law who used to rally a lot, how often do they need to be serviced, every 12 months or greater?

HI Landroverboy

here in South Africa the majority of the time we are off road, only use the tar to get to the good place's :) doen't think there is room under the dash due to the aircon unit, thats got to stay and absolute must here
