The 16" or even the 15" wheel means that the sidewall height is greater.
This allows for flex in the tyre and a degree of absorption of deflection from rough farm tracks etc and thus aids in the suspension of the vehicle.
However it gives a softer and slightly floaty feel on the road.

Larger wheels with Low profile tyres have a small sidewall which is stiffer because it barely deflects. This stiffness keeps the tread more in line with the rim and thus a greater feeling of "roadholding"
.. but the trade off is a limited ability on rougher surfaces, a harsher and noisier ride plus the potential for damaging the rim when mounting the kerb outside the hairdressers.

Any offroading I will be doing will only extend to parking on the grass when there are no spaces left in the car park or putting one wheel on the kerb when failing to parallel park!

I think that was what my tyre man said! But these wheels looked nice :p Anyway who will see them when they are covered in horse and cow ****? So what is the point really!! I will only feel obliged to wash them more often!

don't keep the thing covered in horse and cow **** it will make it rot like there is no tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Bluebell? I might be! - only Bluebell I know has 4 legs!

discobluebell on here is horsey.....and so is landybird........... iwanna90 was but she banned herself

I will wash it this weekend! Promise - tbh it's mainly all the crap off the road but I suppose that will include slurry etc. I will look out for bluebell and landybird - we can talk horsepower!

delicious horse burgers.....i mean power

I saw those earlier! Have decided to stick with my 16's for the time being - you never know what might need fixing next and then I would be sorry for spending £400 on wheels!

Oh yeah I could use that for towing taking the jetski out - no need for reversing down the slip!!

VCU, rear diff, doors fallen off due to getting it wet.........;)

While everyone is in such a helpful frame of mind - should I get it chipped? That sounds like I know what it means - not entirely true! Been told that it will increase torque and improve fuel economy and performance.
