am going to be changing my discs on my disco 1 what are your opinions vented unvented grooved or ungrooved , i do not do any real of roading.................... yet :)

any comments welcome

yes. i use it in all my cars. flush every year....gives a much better pedal feel and also a higher boiling point meaning resistance to fade.

Sorry, Juiceyv8, I deleted my reply because I did some research and my reply was pure crap.

will i have to change my callipers if fitting vented discs, no not standard well not fitted on mine ??

vented are std on higher spec vehicles yes you would need to change calipers or fit spacers into caliper ,vented calipers are the same as solid but with spacers as std anyhow new calipers about £50-60,i fitted them to my disco 1 v8 feels alot better ,dont fit green stuff pads but red are perfect

pedal feel, OMG it's going in the mud you'll have a soft limp pedal and pads that wear out monthly, why waste money on expensive pads etc, my 2 pennies worth

so i can use my existing callipers with vented discs just need spacers, and they fit where. does anyone use the green pads ??. sorry so many questions all new

if yu've not got fade with the current setup then why bother spending more money on posh discs and posh pads?

tis only worth upgrading if the current stuff is not working, not just "cos it's better".

I run greenstuff on the Midget because i had fade with OEM pads. I don't like them, too much dust and weird when cold. will be fitting mintex 1144 next time, dunno if that's a option fer landys IF u need it.

just my 2c

spacing calipers - i was told that's a bad plan - spacers go between the 2 halves of the caliper, if you get it wrong then its no brakes time and mr insurance will hate you forever and ever. and ever
