I had to get a second hand window when the bar went dont think it very easy to remove leaving the window in one piece.

Well I think the regulator part is the windey gear part. The bottom would be a window support Bar or bottom track. Think the best would be a breaker yard.The metal bar that grips along the bottom of the window, I know it's part of the regulator but that's the only bit that's knackered on mine so was wondering if I could buy it seperately.

What is not doing?
removing it ain't an issue, it fell off of it's own accord in lots of little pieces

Support bar sounds about right,
I would go to a breakers but I can't get to one for at least 2 weeks, working every day.
It's not holding the window so it just "falls" open when you press the button.
