Hate to resurrect old ones but bit more info has come to light, When the timing cover was took off there was no sign of a chain or belt, only gears (see pic). So can some clever bast'd now provide the answer??

Your engine has a ZEUS timing gear conversion.
You have our sympathy.

Look it up on Google ............. "ZEUS timing gear conversion"

If you are very lucky, and quick, you may be able to refit a proper timing belt before the Zeus gears fail and wreck your engine.

Be warned!

never seen those before, cant see how swapping a chain for a couple of gears can give "a more flexible and much more responsive engine with more low-down torque, constant reliability, improved starting plus fuel savings and reduced emissions/exhaust smoke" as the website says!! does a chain stretch that much??

imagine if i fitted these magic gears and an HHO system!! :D

yup - general consensus is that, although in principle, should be good, they are poorly made, can fail with catastrophic results, and the company will not honour any warranty. That is, if you can contact them.

Allegedly.

Glad charlesy said change them back to belt QUICK!! those gears are crap and not upto automotive standards. As been said do a google on ZEUS.

Hi give some more clues, Ok I have seen the front, with a front FIP it ‘s possibly a 2.5 I need to see more to identify, cheers:)
