The main difference is it was possible to disable the filter in AG but Roy hasn't found a way to do that with the new format. Most everyone knows how to get round it anyway.

I'm not complaining though, people seem to keep it in AG more. I don't enjoy having to edit posts and tell folk off for language I use casually.
Yea the F@*#ng W#$@~s

The funniest thing I ever saw taken out by a sweary filter was 'weight watchers'. Only the two words were combined into weightwatchers, and it filtered the middle out. :D Mind you, diet IS a swear word.

Now, spell checkers get my goat. I misspell words deliberately on times, and get narked when it corrects it.

I don't like faecesbook or twerper either. Or msn, instagran, peebo or any of that crap.

Well there is a tale, dunno if it's true or not, of a certain council imposing a mail content filter when they were still fairly new and crude - and then found ALL their email blocked. Where was this ? Scunthorpe of course :D

Probably true, it has to be manually entered as a filter exempt word.

I used to go to Scunthrope on business, stayed in a hotel with "International" in the name - only thing international were the bugs, windowless breakfast room with wall size low res prints of the countryside that made you giddy and the noise from the nearby young offenders institution all night. 20 years ago, I do hope its changed.
