I would like to thank all at L Z for the opportunity to use this forum as a platform while L R UK got themselves sorted.
And like many will continue to use this forum on a regular basis.
I have enjoyed the witty humour here and will look forward to more.;)

Now LRUK is back up and running, I too would like to thank all at LandyZone for their patience while LRUK got back on its feet. I also shall continue to visit here, I like the variety. :D

For any who wish to visit LRUK, the new domain can be found here

(Rude of me to do that you may say, but I have placed a link here there. And, I did ask first!)

Edited, amended link.

LRUK Forums are changing over to the new forum software, this will take time due to the size of the database but they should be up and running by Sunday evening.
They started the transfer Friday evening.

Yep, what they ^ said.:D

Lose the /forum.php bit off the end of the link posted earlier will get you to the actual home page, where you find the link to the temp forum.

But you're used to xenforo anyway with using it here, so need to visit to see how it works!

I need the practice though...:p

Edit.... I altered the link above.

Thank you, Big Sandy. Very glad to hear the Forum isn't dead and buried - good to have an alternative source of info and advice.

Hope that goes better than the LZ software transfer did. We lost lots of stuff, and some members disliked it so much they never came back.

Yes some people dont like change.
I dont like changing my socks but need to once in a while. o_O

That is true, but some people are OK with it. The software change did cause problems to some. All the albums were lost, and our huge range of expressive smilies dissappeared, never to return! :(

Personally, I don't do much internet stuff, and didn't have any albums, so it didn't bother me that much. But it took me a while to get used to how to do things on the new format. And the old forum incorporated full page profile pics, which is not possible on the new forum. And I miss the smilies.

Also, I personally have a dislike, almost amounting to a phobia, of Farcebook and Tw@tter. And the new forum has buttons linking to those organisations.

I forgot. The new forum also has a swear filter. I don't swear much anyway, but I dislike censorship, and don't like being treated like a 5 year old.

The old forum had a swear filter as well. It had to be added after we got chucked off Google and banning people who couldn't tell whether they were in AG or not didn't seem a great option.

Interesting. I must have missed that. As I say. I am not a big swearer anyway.

Another thing that irritates me about the filter is that many dictionary words, like sh!t, are covered, even though they are common in regular usage, and don't seem to offend anyone.

The main difference is it was possible to disable the filter in AG but Roy hasn't found a way to do that with the new format. Most everyone knows how to get round it anyway.

I'm not complaining though, people seem to keep it in AG more. I don't enjoy having to edit posts and tell folk off for language I use casually.

Again, thanks for that information. I was unaware of most of that.

I know how to get round it too, but frankly CBA! ;):)
