@ Duncp73

I now have about 5.000km with the Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S most on tarmac but surely some greenlaning and ....... the campsite at C4H pulling out my 1600kg caravan.

The tires are great. No problems, no extra noise and good handling. I'm pleased with them.

Got myself a set of these now, I use them for green laning. Not had any problems with them

I've decided to stick to my current alloys, no point in buying modulars and BFG AT's until I know I like off roading and it's worth the money.

So for now I'm thinking of getting a good AT tyre to let me go as far as I can with the stock car. How do General Grabber AT2's meaure up? It'll be them or the Conti's I think. The AT2's seem to have a very good rating online, the conti's wear quickly apprently. Hmm.

General Grabber AT2 best tyre I've had in ages, no tramlining, worn little in 18 months, aggressive shoulder pattern, great off road and on.

Stu

Well it looks like GG have disconned the AT2 and replaced it with the AT. I am deeply miffed as the AT2 has a great rep and the AT is almost totally untried. It looks pretty radically different and although they say it out performs the AT2 well they're gonna say that aren't they.

Buggeration. I'm not really keen on being a £500 guinea pig.

I have some Hankook Ventus ST RH 06 on mine in 225/50/17. I'm very happy with them and managed to get for around €130 a corner, fitted. Good grip in the wet and dry and worked perfectly fine on some snow when I was in up in the hills.

Continental Cross Contact LX

I like them done about 9k miles so far and not showing to much wear. Driven in snow once with these and didn't miss a beat.

I'd buy them again

They have got the general grabber mt out now! I'm going for them next :) at2.... Awesome tyre!

Mine is wearing the standard Goodyear Wrangler HP's I did think the General Grabber AT2 would be a superior replacement but they have now been discontinued so i'm going to stick with the Wranglers as they do everything I need.

Got the original ATs on my TD4; had them on for about 6 months & cant fault them for green laning, road (a little more noisy, no tramlining, slightly increased fuel consumption) & towing a horsebox across muddy fields. As long as you realise these are AT not MT you wont be disappointed imho..

I've got Yokohama Geolander AT's 205/80/16, not had them long but done a few green lanes, snow, ice, and in the wet......and I think there an excellent tyre, and a good price too. :)

In the snow this week 195/15 camac terra
very noisy on tarmac but huge grip on rough the TC wont kick in unless you are doing somthing really stupid;)

Just had an email to say that the black modular wheels that DD has are back in stock. I'm not in the market fer wheels but one o you nutters might be!!;)

General Grabber AT2s put on 3000 miles ago - they feel great, a little noisier than the previous road tyres but no loss of grip and in mud and snow they are great.
They were hard to find as they have been discontinued but managed to get some.

Good choice! What size you got?

Just stuck with the standard size, I did not want to mess around with the gearing for towing or normal driving.
To Be honest if I were goinf up a size I would have chose BFG ATKO's. They don't do them in standard size.

Late last year I bought some a full set of part-worn Continental 4x4 Contact tyres off eBay. Was very happy as they they were a fraction of the cost of new, not one patch and at least 5.5mm of tread across each tyre.

Very composed and quiet on the tarmac and motorway runs. Got a chance to test them out in the snow recently and nothing fazed them.
