Again this old P38 2.5 derv, dick turpin wants £62 inc vat plus can only buy a pack of 5 rubber seals at £13, you can't buy just 1

Should I get one from Rimmer, britpart ect

I bought the genuine stat from Rimmers. Wasn't cheap but its a genuine BMW part. Works fine!

OEM with the valve (fitted at 12oclock position) is best. You can go cheap and risk your engine if you want to but renew the seal either way.
If you shop about you will find a much better deal, island 4x4, paddockspares, eBay are just a few. If you look what JLR charges will make you feel betterer ;)

And also a lot gooderer. :D

We will learn him wellerer.
:D
I got a £8 stat and drilled a 5mm hole in the same position the valve was located in the original - It’s only to let the air out on bleeding you can manage this without any hole but they can be problematic to burp.

Cheapo does have more chance of failing
For the extra £3.50 get the gooderer one ;)

I always drill the little hole rather than have the wiggle pin there. Mine bled straight up without issues.

Wish i could speak proper like what you do. Three days without Wi-Fi and the grammar has gone to pot.

You and the others have teached me proper English. My vocabulary is much bester but I may have developed a slight Preston twinge to my already superberer accent ;)
