As far as I recall my 90 wallowed like a barge on corners. It felt more forgiving than the p38 but nowhere near as nice to drive.

@300bhp/ton - I keep saying I will pop over sometime. I think once I have rebuilt my engine I will have to have a day off or at least an evening. I have Arnott gen. 3 springs so if you want to see how they perform you're welcome to see first-hand. I just need to get the damn thing running first!

No worries. Just shoot me a pm on here.

Including the P38, I have had 5 different brands of 4 x 4. The P38 being the only one with a live front axle, it has far and away the best ride and handling of any of them. As for experience, apart from 50K a year when I was working I used to race cars and before that bikes.

Have a watch here.

You can clearly see how much the standard model leans and wallows. The slalom comparison is quite telling, look at how it snaps to one side as it leans over. If you can find a video of a D2 with ACE, the difference will be huge, suspect ACE would keep it more level than the Overfinch one, but still retain the supple ride.

I think we are agreeing with each other. I think the p38 is great off-road. However, as you say, it will ground the diff’ in deep ruts. It has the lowest ground clearance of any of the Landy’s - so 90’s, 110’s and Disco’s will happily trot through a deep rutted lane that a stock p38 will ground on. (I’m not counting Freelanders)! A few small mods and it becomes a brilliant off-road drive - but then it does not look stock. I have cruised round steep tight gravel bends that 90’s and 110’s have struggled with because in the case of the 110 the p38 has a better turn and the 90 driver was struggling to choose a suitable gear although the auto p38 had no problems at all.

Test drive a few but I doubt you'll feel the need for ARB. The p38 is a capable car but the ride in the L322 is better and it is supposed to be OK off road too. Mind you, it does cost more to fix!
The L322 is better off road. However, It is a lot more expensive to fix so although i started green laning in my L322 I was damaging it too much so I bought a p38 for the lanes and keep my nice beautiful L322 for the roads. But it is bloody good off road. Much higher ground clearance than the p38.
