For me, badge aside, a Land Rover is a vehicle that I would look forward to getting into each and every time and get a smile on my face each time - and I can either pooter to town, bounce down a rutty lane somewhere or bugger off to the desert without so much as thowing the necessaries in the back.

wud this do it for ya?

As said, badge aside, that goes without saying :)

(but that wouldnt do it for me, everything would fall out the back and don't fancy sleeping in something without a roof or doors in the desert, so doesn't fit my criteria :))

Oi, you changed the pic!

That would deffo not do it for me as not fitting criteria again. There is no way I would pull up to a miitary check point or Russian/Algerian/etc border crossing looking like that haha!

The faint smell of damp / mud / oil, the many rattles & whines, the way the water runs down the inside of my door, the dimly lit green dashboard & the song of the diesel on a long drive home at night.

That's what makes all the Land Rovers I've had.

**** knows why, they're great aint they? :)

I'd say Apart from the badge A true Landy has no fancy gizmo's and is just pure brute mechanics, clunks and clangs, and every so often a big bang and spending the next day spannering her back to life with an adjustable and a hammer... Defender's, Series and the first Disco's and don't forget Rangey Classics apart from the Vogue SE's are real Land Rovers...

Anything passed '94 I'd say are too civilised, a bloke or lass who owns a true Landy doesn't need GPS they have a Survey map instead, they don't need air con, because the window's come down instead, True Landy Owner's have whits about them, but maybe that's why we have them? We're the only one's who can put up with them :D

Gotta Love 'Em!!
