It's a defender. Series landrovers had leafspring suspension Defender have coiled springs. That is the wrong registration for that vehicle I suggest you check the chassis number which is located on top of the Brake servo and I believe on the drivers side front chassis between the wheel and the bumper. also check the engine number. None of them will match what is on your logbook. Where did you buy it from??? If it was a friend or private sale I suggest you go round and ask him/her wot the fooks going on. If it was a trade or ebay sale I'd contact DVLA. If you get a pull in it your going to have some serious explaining to do. 90/110 (defender) regs didn't start till 1983 and were A prefix so should look like this>> A123ABC not XXX123X

Its a 90 body, but as you said they only started in 1983/4. It is coil sprung, so either has RR or 90/110/defender axles. If it is a 1976 Series chassis, then itll have been modified to take the coils, or itll b a modified RR chassis. Um.. What engine does it have?

heavily converted series? still under series identity? take some photos ofd the engine and we will know more... rather, someone else will know more!

That hasn't been modded. That's a bog standard Post 1983 90 or defender 90. Some one has stuck a P reg plate on it to try and make it tax free but that's the only mod it has had.

and yer g/box int a series one neither... ah take it that by heavily modified yer mean all series parts have bin replaced by defender parts

ok i have the chassis number and the info from the log book

make: Land Rover
Model 88'' -4CYL
Date of reg: 13 03 1976
Wheelplan: 2-axel-rigid body
Cylinder capacidy 2286 cc

Surely it would not have passed the MOT if it was doggy??

I have been onto to the DVLA because tax book never came after 2 months but they said it dosen't matter if i take it to ireland i need to send in an export form

ere si, got the perfect plate for ya bus.
wot ya think:D tis tax exempt
