Yes ofc. - the hardware & driveability sets the limit. - but I suppose there must be a few of these TD5's out there running TD5Alive or likewise....
let me rephrase: with HW above - will I be able to get 180hp/220lbft still good driveability and mpg?
...with TD5Alive Hybrid turbo - TD5Alive Intercooler, de-cat & fullflow exhaust, de-egr
and proper custom map.

and what else should i consider upgrading - without opening up the engine.
are the OE injectors suffient?
Halfshafts and CV-joints
Replace the exhaust manifold bolts with the stronger and longer ones too to help stop the prick of a standard manifold warping or pulling the studs. Or you can go with the upgraded manifold from Alisport like mine and as Thor has mentioned already but it's pretty expensive!!!
Thanks for all replies - ill consider the manifold - is Alisport the only option? or
is there any other ones around - ie any tubular ones rather than casted ?
I fitted mine during the week. Manifold was a welcome change and I gave it a pretty good test the other night with pulling a trailer loaded up with a V6 Shogun and it didn't miss a beat.
Mine is only boosting to around 1.05-1.12bar though with the VNT so must look into that and see must I change anything.
Low end torque is awesome though!
you need the thing to fool the ecu as that is limiting your boost and if you do over boost you go to limp mode.
Fitted an Alisport boost box at the same time though which should sort it. I'm not sure if it's working though... Checked the male/female connection eariler and clamped them just in case they weren't making perfect contact. I'll try the earth wire next although that should be good as it's onto the earth stud underneath the fuse box.
Am I right in that there's not really any adjustment needed on the VNT other than the stop to keep the vanes closing down completely?
Haven't fitted a MAF bypass pipe yet but not much need if I'm only making standard boost so far
