one end looks like a spark plug - a non blurred pic might help and maybe one from each end of it

maybe it's one of those combustion inspection plugs ?

ah right, its just something pinged off from under me landy while goin along, hit the underside of the drivers footwell and went bk along th road. went bk to see if i could find it, and thats th only likely suspect i cud find on the road. cant b it then if its a sparkplug.
hmmmmmmm wander wats just happened!

if your engines is still running it's likely not to be a spark plug, or at least not one that is being used

the left side looks like a plug - better pics please

What's the writing on it say? Does look a bit spark-plug, but then again its got a thread at both ends.

or an compression tester adaptor someones made using an old plug housing - the right hand thread screws into the tester ?

Yup - it's a compression test adaptor.
I'd guess that someone dropped it down the side of yer injun at some time in the past and it got wedged somewhere, before eventually falling out.

update: my landy now feels slightly leaning towards front right corner, and wen moving feels like its slighly bobbing.plus more vibrating going on than th usual for a landy, I think it may b the UJ's?apparently they can fail wiv out much warning?

dunt think it is, cos it dunt look like any of the ones i have and if yer look close there seems to be an electrode on the LH end. but if if it is a spark plug its a fooking weird one. the nearest i've seen to a spark plug like that is a FFR plug

its a adapter fer a compression tester

lets yer use yer tester on injuns with different sized plug ole

dont they have a coaxial lead on them to help suppress interference ? - that might explain the right side thread that may mate with the lead gland ?

BETTER PICTURES PLEASE !

so currently we think its a FFR spark plug that was bodged into your UJ ?

I din't mean compression test adapter (gittin confoosed in me senility) I meant one er them ColourTune adapter fingys. I used ter ave one when I used ter race Minis years ago.
If yer look down the tube, is the end bit (around the electrode) translucent?

hmm - maybe they were diffrunt back in the 80s - certainly looks like how I remember it.
Dunno - I may be wrong (wouldn't be the first time).
