I was in my missus freebie today and when i got out (passenger) i noticed a pink spec on my trainer so i investigated and found a tiny bit of pinky coloured fluid on a "black pipe,large diameter going to a very large black box". I have cleaned it up with a rag ,the carpet under it shows no sign of previous leaking so i guess its from something prior to our owning.By the way this was all in the passenger footwell of her TD4 Auto 2002 if that helps.Any ideas as to what it could be?
 
air con has an oil in it aswell as the gas, sometimes there is a red dye in it to make leak spotting easier, can't think of any other fluids that would be in that area specially not red ones
 
coolant? it is a known problem of Hippoo heater matrixes leaking into the passenger footwell. It is a bugger to fix tho. worth keeping an eye on it.
 
No, its not coolant as it is quite thick and slippery(oo er), it is also quite a distinct smell, almost "spicy?".
 
do they really need it or is it just that they come wiff it in them and folk just use what was already there?? and if so why?

does yer A/C hiss or indeed work atall
 
Everything works fine, it was just a query as to what it could be ,it was only a tiny bit which i have now cleaned off, but i will keep my beedy eye on it!. These bloomin vehicles are like ticking time bombs waiting to go off!
 
if it is yer A/C it might have a leak stopper in it aswell . so yud only get a little bit leak out before the stuff bungs the
hole up
