i noticed a small vibration at speed(ha!)this week becoming a little more noticable....so today i thought id have a look and see, then i thought id change the oil/filter whilst i had a day to myself,so with mr shells finest in the sump it was time to source the vibration...tyre pressures all ok,the tyres arent long fitted so they were ok...then i noticed the front off side tyre hadnt any balance weights...so down to the local tyre man(he isnt actually made of rubber!)and he had it up in the air within minutes...wheel off and away he went to his machine leaving me free to have a poke around underneath the LR owners do when given the chance
The obvious quick check on brake pad wear was followed by a poke at bits of 'bala4x4'mud that the jetwash had missed....then i saw it...a big damp patch on the damper...yip,ive a damp damper!!!!
So...do i renew just the fronts...or all four...then i may as well renew the springs whilst im there...so it'd be silly not to do the bushes whilst everything is off...where do i start/stop? a full suspension rebuild or simply replace the front dampers? decisions, decisions

Bastid foohickin sodding landrovers............

went out this morning (well 11:00 acterlee) - full of the joys of spring.
Going to put the final coat of hammerite on the inner wing.
opened a 1 litre tin, climbed into the injun bay and nocked the bastid thing over.....
allover the radiator, winch, bumper, noo concrete.
spent 15 mins trying to recover it, wiping up the concrete etc.
Only to turn around and knock the ****in thing over agin.
another half hour later, coming out from the house after cleaning myself down, blurry trip over a bastid step, fall flat on my face and graze my left shin.
(the air was a bit blue)
consoled myself with a jam donut, had lunch and did an hours electrics.

managed to save 250ml of hammerite - but the nice noo concrete wont rust :(

half the day spent trying to get 675 litres of veg oil of a tail lift luton,
did it, messy though, ten litres went down my mates front.
but so much for the economics, had to hire truck for another day, buy 4 more 25 litre containers and hire a pallet truck,
it was so much simpler yesterday, when it was loaded on with a jcb tractor /digger .
No foresight, insight or hindsight but hey ho, job done.

least ya didnee dribble the jam donut down ya tie...

nah - made sure of that.;) - and yo rite, G-spot - preparation....
