Yes another Saturday not working on the Land Rover. Hmm. Surely that's not right. I'm surprised it's not needing more maintenance. I suppose I've worked my way through most of the components that wear out, including transmission, brakes, suspension, steering ball joints and bearings, fuel delivery and so on, so until the engine fails I've just got to twiddle my thumbs and wait for the components I've replaced to come to the end of their natural lives.
The main problem is that I took the advice of many internet sources and checked very carefully for rust in the chassis and bulkhead when choosing one to buy. Naively, I assumed that this meant if it was rusty you shouldn't buy it. I didn't realise that you were supposed to buy the rustiest one you could find. So I've denied myself the never-ending weekend ritual of grinding and welding.
