Cleaned something off which seems to be a daily routine now.

I fitted a new lift pump today, but it's still drawing in air.
So that's a new fuel line from tank to lift pump, new clear lines from lift pump to filter/filter to injection pump.
The only thing left now is the tank sender unit which I have just ordered.

Re-trimmed and refitted the headlining in the defender. Went with black acoustic material and closed cell foam between roof and lining. Whilst there I fitted a volumetric sensor too (£8 off eBay, bargain)

Popped some USB adapters in the disco and fitted the dog guard ;) ...Oh yeah, I bought a discovery 3 :)

Ended up stripping he timing belt etc off again as had a small coolant leek from behind the timing belt case
nightmare!
will this thing every get done?
one step forward and several back at the moment

Hard-wired my dash cam to the ignition live. Rewired passenger door actuator as it wasn't working (****e cheap cable doesn't play well with a leaky defender door)

I know this feeling, fitted new output bearings and seals to the transfer box and 4 new H/Spicer UJ's and now have an awful vibration through the tratter.

Yes, those UJ bearings all have little personalities of their own. Even without any wear some just seem smoother than others. After mine threw a propshaft a few weeks ago I fitted a brand new one and it is smoother than anything else I have run on it.

Fed mine with veg oil today :), making bio was getting to be a pain so went down the easy route.
Needless to say I got my air ingress problems sorted first.

So this morning, up at 6 am and rebuilt my nearside hub on the discovery. All new bearings and seals, happy days! And yes I've already done the off side one!

Replaced the bl**dy driver's door latch assembly. Fairly straightforward job, but a real PITA having to strip the door down almost completely. Just got the rear near side to do now, but I can leave that one for a day or two.

Cleaning mine!!!! Filming with ITV later and all day tomorrow for a new TV program with paddy mcguinness.

Accidentally left a tool box in the back overnight. I discovered this morning that no one had broken into it and stolen the tools. As the idiom has it, result!
