Sorted meet in shaftsbury usual place?? or do ya wanna meet at yours and follow yu in case ya break down?? :D

fookin hooray,
mr posty arrived with me bits today.
cant grumble really, under £40 delivered - dayco belt, 4 gaskits, tensioner, oil seal - value!
had to wait 4 days for them to travel 15 miles in essex, or so, most probs via the Scily Isles.
only said as they were "post free" I`d do it that way.
oh well, got the new belt on, tensioner, all lined up propper,
cam cover case back on, new gaskits put back with black R T V silicon stuff
(-60c to + 160c ?)
but forgot to buy more locktite for crank bolt, as I cant find old stuff!
turned motor over by hand - seems ok ?
so, looking good for hitting the start key sometime tomoz (if the weathers ok!)
gonna leave the fan orf, and at a later date, rig up one of 2 eclctric fans.
as its a dual fan, I only need just the one, will remove 2nd one.
must say theres lots more room without the viscous fan & shroud.
rads still out, but decieded to stop until I got thread locking stuff tomoz..
Do you know,
I really miss my old disco, not been out in it for a few weeks now,
getting withdrawal symptoms....
ha..ha..ha..ha..

Aye fur trapper, but when your offered free delivery in 2 - 3 days,
an offer not to be refused.
I tried 2 of our very local motor parts factors (outlets),
1) was come back in 3 days, then never had them, then wanted £99 for what i paid under £40 for, the other factor wanted £119 for the same items, got by next day!
as I`m retired, in no real rush here eh..lol
*
not sure of your location, but, diesel is £1-43 per litre where we live now,
4.54 litres per gallon = far too dear to waste it...
even though I`m running on 50% new cooking oil @ 99 pence per litre....
now, back in the days in mid 1960`s,
when I was 17, my first car, good old petrol was oh so cheap then...lol

:beer2:
aye both, do we miss the "good old days"?
well, sometimes/sometimes not?
no home computors thats for sure, for info on your cars maintainance you either took it apart to see whats wrong, then put it back together again, and prayed you got it right.
my first couple of cars were:-
Mk 1 ford consul convertable.
Mk 2 zephyr convertable
Ford V8 pilot (never used it legally on road)
Mk 1 zodiac
Mk 2 zephyr saloon
then got boring but had a pram to run aswell,
Anglia 105e van, (had one of them HUGE prams, all chrome & big wheels)...?...sounds like a new evoque...lol.!
then 105e car.......the list is endless, but most were fords..
would be fun to start a thread of what we had before being landrover nuts eh...lol
Back in the good old days,
our transport of the future was .......who would have guessed...:D
