fitted 2" lift kit to discovery 1 today, what a nightmare, broke bolts in rear retaining clip for spring, had to drill them out and replace.
Found that rear shocker mount or nut is naffed as nut will not tighten up correctly, going to shop tomorrow to get some better bolts etc, anyone know which are best or sizes i need, no good unless i have it my hand with me.

hi all, changed the track rods on the series 2a today, seems to go in a straight line now but still alot of plan in the steering wheel!

Went to Essex Offroad for the first time today and loved it! Chased my mate round in his kitted up 90 and there wasn't anywhere he went that I couldn't follow in the pikey wagon! :D
Damage was pretty low too, smashed both front indicators, cracked one headlight and slightly flaired front wings after going though some water a bit quick.

Tried to get the EGR bolts loose on my 95 Disco 1 300Tdi. Despite soaking the bolts in WD40 for the last 4 days they just won't shift. Argh....

trimmed down my square of waffle into 4 long slim waffle boards, i have 2 fat short ones but they never fit in the ruts so skinny is the way,

removed my roof mounted spare and fitted the waffles up on the roof bars,

tomorrows job though, take steering box off or drop it at an angle so i can undo all four bolts on to and change the O ring under the cover

try "duck oil" its alot better than WD40 and u only need to leave it a day :)

took my disco 1 for a spin and found a flooded road........

wasnt as flooded on the way back tho :D :D

took rubber flooring stuff out of boot of disco 1 and found some fooking rust, looks like she will be in need of some welding b4 MOT in oct :(

Found out the disco boot door leaks water everywhere, which explains the soaking wet sound proofing, now pondering whether it needs new seals or probably double up on them as I can fit most of my hand between the door and the bodywork (only
Had the thing a week) :(

have u tryed undoing the bolts on the hinges then get a mate to lift the door up then do them bk up?

i had the same prob with mine and it sorted it :D

and kinda lee, i was thinking of getting a 110 and giving the mrs my disco "when she's passed her test"

and iv also be looking in to s2 but its all down to cash and thats something i lack :(

steering box off, top removed new O'ring under top fitted, box refitted, just got to pop to the landy specialist to pick up a load of ATF so i can fill it bleed it and change my gearboox oil i guess

might top up my axles too

Finally managed to get the EGR off my disco 1. Duck Oil didn't help so I ended up grinding the top off the EGR assembly to get to the bolts. Once off, all went smoothly. Engine seems to run quieter and smoother now.

Next step is the de-cat. Just have to order the down pipe for my disco and get it done.
