Did an oil and filter change on the automatic gearbox today, first time I have done this in fact and it showed. I managed to soak most of my arm and the drive in ATF fluid as it poured out of the filler hole on the Disco 2. For a car with a full service history it does not look like this has ever been changed in 138,000 miles, quite brown in colour and no 'tool' marks at all on either the filter inside, the sump or indeed the filler/inspection bolt.

Managed to get 4.5 ltrs back in which was the equivalent of what came out or thereabouts. The Haynes manual stated to replace the washer for the filler/inspection bolt.. thing is there was no washer and can't seem to find any appropriate part number. Anyone know if this is the case?

My 90 has never had a rear door stay for some reason so I set out to make one with some 25mmx4mm flat bar and some 8mm steel rod. welded the bits together and sprayed them satin black. Fitted them onto the Landy with some nice shiney stainless fittings.

Poor weather stopped play. So cleaned up the seat frames and then wire brushed them all down. Spray painted with some Hammerite hammerd black i had knocking about. Quite pleased!......tommorrow into the workshop for intercooler change and turbo boost pipe change!:D

begun to build up the engine again and then got sidetracked by the missus complaining about the state of the trailer i built from crap and leftovers i had lying around so i also made that match the landy ( sort of )

Changed the oil and filter, topped up axles and boxes with ep90.

The transfer box is on a continuous oil replacement programme :p :p

fitted the stainless steel grill I got for a tenner yesterday, Then decided it looked ****e. Far too blingy. So painted it, satin black. And then got carried away so painted the wingtops as well. :D Looks very nice. So nice I is gonna paint the whole Landy, Satin Black now..

Last few days, working around farm work and the weather!
Refilled Transfer box, diffs and swivels with 90wt. When I removed the gearbox plugs I didn't like the look of this thread,

So this morning I went to the LOcal LR parts independent and got another plug, refitted and filled up gearbox with MTF asing my custom gear oil filler,

Removing the Air filter I noticd some specks of rust on the airbox, so sanded that and washed it down, managed to get one primer and one top on that

On top of the box is a new turbo hose, old one was getting a bit tired looking, the tape is training it into shape before fitting. Here is the refurbed airbox and hose back in place..
