Mash hammer to the top of the loose nut down the way ? The steering column isnt attached to the bulkhead no more

Tried a 3 leg puller anol and it wouldnt do it either
 
nope splashed about abit in rivers and broke me speedo. less than 800 miles on the clock. Land rovers int reliable.
 
dunno. it jumped about a bit then died,.then came back to life, then died then alive then dead and was alive when i parked it up so who knows....

sounds like it might be worth checking the drive mechanism.
 
Gearbox and clutch in......now what to do as I didn't bring my welder as its raining.......

May start to king cab it by removing the tub and cutting the bulkhead out
 
Changed clutch fluid,old stuff was black and was slightly reluctant to disengage sometimes,got tempted to rip out radio in anticipation of replacing it,(with one that works).Then lost interest so went in for tea an cake:D.
 
EGR delete this morning. Tried to find a persistant oil leak which appears to be from top of oil filter !! Now getting cold so indoors for 6 nations. ;)

Stood at the window and looked at it, can't go out and work on the engine in this rain without the risk of filling the engine with water :(
 
Just got a free fairey or delorto overdrive I think :D


gonna clean the crud off it later and find the makers mark but its a big one :) took me half a glass of blood and 4 hours to take out but worth it
 
cleaned up Flywheel off BB's old 200tdi injun, & dressed the teeth as they is a bit worn :(
fitted flywheel to injun.
fitted noo spigot bush.
Fitted noo clutch
Fitted noo HD clutch fork and the fooking Pushrod, retaining clip snapped while I was fitting it :mad: fooking crap Britpart.
tried to refit gearbox. fooker wouldn't close up. :mad: Took it back out and discovered the friction plate had slipped :eek:
Realigned clutch with state of the art, long reach socket and insulating tape. :D
refitted gearbox and it went staright in.. Yeah :D :D
Fitted noo Slave cylinder. & bled clutch. all done and dusted Hopefully :eek:
