Yes got a welder. Good job or I would be Fooked.

Red, I'm sure that you could patch it up with some 3mm plates. Even if only temporary the repair would last a couple of years and allow you time to save your pennies for a shiny one.

Well Chassis is welded.

I think there is now about 20% of the original chassis remaining. the rest has been plated over and welded. Do I need a Q Plate??

Have welded it. but it isn't gonna last a couple of years. as the chassis is rotten and has been welded for at least 75% of it's lenght on both bottom rails and about 50% on both outer rails Plus several patches on the inner rails. Not including the patches that were put on today, When I bought it I had to have a new front chassis leg welded in and it's recently had a new rear crossmember. There really is very little of the original chassis left.

Think I might have to start a JustGiving page. If some Lazy Bone Idle Student can get peeps to sponsor him to rebuild his own Fender I'm sure I can do the same to buy a noo chassis. :D

 good idea :D ;)

Who let the pigeon out?

Not me. :p I was responsible for cleaning chassis, cutting patches, grinding off and painting. :D But I was just happy that the fooking only blew thru in a couple of places I was expecting him to be constantly having to weld extensions onto the patches

Pulled a heap of wiring covered in electrical tape out from behind the dash, as it died while I was driving.. Took out the annoying alarm, and joined the wires that all seem to be red, then blue then brown... :-/ joined by scotchlox, or twisted together.... Gotta find a day soon to rewire the whole lot...
Feels better without all that tape tho!!

Refitted my snorkel which gave me a chance to use my shiny new rivnut gun. Sorted the aerial and scraped a lot of oil and gunk off to finally find my engine number
