Doc if it is long enough to but motor in then it will work with trans on. if it is tail/trans heavy, you use a small ratchet strap to level it out to put in. It is very easy to put it all together

Yeah but he's already got the engine in ain't he?

Should be no problem lining the box up and slipping it on from the inside. Racket straps are great for twisting and leveling when the box is nearly in position.

A centred clutch helps anorl :D:D

It were mostly in :p the splines were locking up with clutch so was just out by a few mm

Have a look here Theres a piccy of me and Pikey taking his box out. Decent width strap over the roof to hoist it off. We used ratchet straps to lift it out and we'll use a rope to lower it back in with ratchets to twist it if necessary.

With it suspended you have much greater freedom of movement and less risk of something slipping and giving you an extra knee than if it is supported from underneath.

I ended up using the crane to support it whilst it was on the board

Going to get the proper guide though if I can

was trying to refit replacement motor then but trans in after motor was in, instead of all installed as 1 unit. at least dry fit trans on the ground.

It's 250 kg at middle length and 150 at max length. Engines already at 230 so it won't take the extra strain. It's all sitting on a builders board now so level. Put it under engine and box with it sitting on axles and crossmembers to take the weight

so you had a engine crane for a lawn mower then

I've got a one ton one but jack needs new seals gonna try and get it done this week but the engine and box are on level ground now so its cool will hopefully slide in once clutch is redone

in my opinion the input shaft is better for just one application, but the other one will do many different apps.just make sure you buy the correct one.;)

Haha well I only plan on doing this box! So maybe the shaft would e better in this case shall ask the landy garage
