Ordered new HD steering arms, new ball joints and all four drop links along with rear shock poly bushes. She should be on the road in a week or so.

Anyone know what springs on Discos are blue, I was certain the suspension was not stock. Suspension seemed pretty pretty well stanced, and the ride is on the firm side so pretty sure they HD springs. Now they are clean I noticed the springs are blue.

started up me doosel after losing the cheap but crap fanbelt while out last night.
was running on me twin linked batteries fer about half an hour with all lights on,
and the old girl started this morning no bother.
marvelous old girl eh :)
now got the twin batteries on charge while I wait fer the sun to come out.. :(

might be on charge fer some time...lol

I got new genuine belt & new alternator to go on anyway,
but not got milk fer me tea, so off to shops fer milk & paper first, sod the alternator belt fer a while before I get me hands cold & dirty.
trip to shops all warm it all up under the bonnet anyway.

Not done but to do:
Install new led indicators with proper new flasher (o-er misses!) unit
Install front led side light
Replace one bump stop
Fit o/c catches to wings
Drink plenty of tea to keep warm :)

Got me noo well correct light bar on Thrusday from roc-ard, spent today measuring checking and measuring a bit more before drilling the gutters. Only cut meslef once too so result! Then managed to fit it too, back inside to warm me toes up and start on the ales.

Just got the lights done today, bump stop hadn't arrived. I'll do the o/c catches tomorrow.
Here's some picies of lights before and after. Was a bit stumped tho when indicated left or right and had hazards going! Turned out to be the dash mounted single indicator warning lamp :banghead:uploadfromtaptalk1358006927652.jpg
Right side lamp had blown anyway! uploadfromtaptalk1358006968881.jpg

They are real nice lamps but the supplied screws are ****e, broke two off at the rear trying to screw into galv, had to drill just the galv out bigger than screw. And one had a head type that I didn't have a bit for! uploadfromtaptalk1358007186798.jpg

I do like those side lights!

Why fanks

Fixed dickie seat that wouldn't lock upright
Re-attached trim panel to driver's seat, with the help of some judicious whittling on the crappy push-fit placcy plugs
Fault finding on heated front screen - 170 ohm both sides, so I guess it's Just Knackered
Replaced locking wheelnuts I chewed up the other day with new non locking
Inspired by nigel1943's cautionary tale, had a 10 minute crawl around underneath - bit of slop in a few bits and bobs, including drag link ball joint, will order parts tonite

Fitted a new thermostat......what was going to be a stress free couple of hours max turned into an all day swear fest......grabbed my viscous spanner to whip the fan off ..... I have not had the fan of this 110 yet and imagine my delight when I realised that my fan spanner which I originally bought for a 200tdi is too small for the td5 fan. Off to halfords and of course they only sell the double ended type with 32mm one end and 36mm the other, so now I have a spare 32mm viscous fan spanner if anybody wants it! Back home and 2 minutes later fan off - easy. Fukkin stoopid bastard hose clips...... the 2 on the top of the thermostat caused no major issues, but access to the bottom one is limited and the clips were positioned in such a way that i struggled to get anything of them to release the c%*t. Old stat off and new one on took about 5 mins, but those 3 clips had me effin and jeffin for about 2 hours.
Once fitted, coolant added and off for a drive - even thought I have little skin on my knuckles and I am hoarse from shouting I FUKING LOVE MY (wife's) LANDY!
Draper 89793 Expert 230mm Flexible Ratchet Hose Clamp Pliers now on my to get list :D

They are the spring clip type not worm gear/ screw type. In the end I used some mole grips to grab the clips and squeeze 'em tight, and I spent 30 mins looking for them in the garage before asking the missus if she had seen them. Found them in the bedroom......apparently her nipple clamps are broken and mole grips do just as good a job!!

Check the other thread for a full synopsis :p

Essentially need to extract 4 bolts and then we're good to go! Clutch is sorted and the gearbox has been turned to fit rather than the other way round so its a simple fit :D
