Not today but over the past few weeks, I have done rear body mounts, rear shuts, rear tubs patched and the boot floor, repaired the front foot wells, new inner wing, chassis repair, chassis and underneath wire wheeled and treated with deox. Annnnnnnnnd breath, Chassis under sealed, got a HD bumper, started fitting bearmach poly bushes, all leaks fixed, head liner stripped ready for new material, and starting to respray the out side and refit. Busy month, neglected pictures but took few today need to upload the rest bit of a bin at the moment.

hopefully sorted my fueling problem on the old 90 bloody great lump of ali swarf in the inlet pipe to lecy pump :(

removed the spare from the bonnet and put it on me noo swingaway wheel carrier.

Also swapped the old knackered ally bonnet, for me noo GRP one. Nice simple job ya thinking? Lift old bonnet off drop noo one in and jobs a good un. ERRRMM NOOO!!!!!

cos me GRP bonnet is off a series and had series hinges. soo swap hinges over simples yes? NOPE cos the hole pattern is different, So drill noo holes for defender hinges and swap hinges over. and fit bonnet. NOPE

Cos the catch pin is fatter on a series. So swap pins over and adjust length simples? Yep, except the one on the GRP bonnet was rusted solid. Lots of releasing spray and gentle back and forth fettling to get it off, without ripping the mounting off the bonnet. But finally managed it. All that's left is to swap the bonnet stay over. Simples??? Nope cos the angle it sat at meant it hit the Rad bracket so Pipe bender out and a dogleg bent into it top & bottomm to get it to fit. And so a 2 minute job, turned into a 2 hr job  Landrovers WHY THE FOOK do we bother..

Noo Bonnet
