I've been doing a spot of servicing. Changed the engine oil after a bit of a strugle with a well rounded sump plug. But fortunately it responded to the James Martin manouevre of hammering a socket onto it. Changed various filters, including oil fuel and air, and then tried to change the oil in the transmission. The axles and transfer box yielded their contents fairly easily, but I failed to get the drain plug out of the main gearbox. No sign of a nice 32mm hex - it has an odd sized recess in it, filled with rust and a crusty cement type material. I think it may be what these guys have R380 gearbox drain plug so I shall try to chisel a bit more of the crud out of it and force a 3/8" square in tomorrow when it gets light.

Attempted to get the rear tail lights working with the help of a technican at work..........no joy, turns out the previous owner had a go at fixing some issues and it now likes like something ma 5 year old did

Black earth cables going everywhere to reds and greens and some questionable crimping and soldering

Looks like i,m hacking the end of the loom off the morrow and re-wirring the tail end!:mad:.............and i fecking hate electrics!

Get some trailer lights wire and just wire it in half way up the chassis. Its durable and easy, just need the diagram for the plug and clock what colours go where in lights...simples:)

Thats the plan fur the morrow after noon....cut the loom just before the rear crossmember and splice a new cable on and mark up what goes where.........sounds easy enough, but ask me again this time the morrow once ma teddies gone and i,ve driven home on rear fog.....again!

Straightened, opened, re-bent and re-mounted me rear exhaust .. Hollinsclough claimed a victim .. ;)
 
Fitted my new switch covers on the raptor dash, sorted out the interior lights front door switches, checked the alternator output :D

Fitted the new TDI n/s vent cover :D

Assured the 110 that I will get round to dealing with its chassis problem soon.... and ignored the Disco... as I proceeded to waxoyl half the (for sale) slitty :D

Replaced the clutch master cylinder!

Glad I've flipped the front, life so much easier, no land rover groan from me tonight when standing up!

fitted me noo swingaway wheel carrier Looks great now but what a fooking b;stard of a job.. 6hrs it took me. :(

But I did fine something very interesting, behind the rear door lining.


The build sheet from the factory with order date build date colour, even the type of tyres to be fitted.

Ha just used it to prop the front end up for the job. Using the usual bonnet stay normally or just lift front end off with a glamorous assistant.

Anyway, a nice quick easy job turned out not to be. Got a new mc that was cheap, not genuine part. Fitted and pedal was rock solid, thought the fluid passage may be blocked. Took it apart and after stripping the piston and poking around with a bit of welding rod, found out the port for clutch pipe isn't even drilled through! :what: Knew it was a cheep one but didn't expect on finishing making it myself!
Just drilled through, about 3mm needed taking out! Must have been made by the work experience Kidd on a late Friday afternoon :rolleyes:

Got the rear lights working again, afater taking the loom back to almost the bulkhead..........but hell they work again:)

thinking a new loom is still in order.....sometime.

next job track rod ends all 3 of them:D
 
I took mine to a spin to an injection specialists....





























To get some injectors replaced on the missus chav box under my breakdown warranty.:D:cool:
