Picked up some bits.
Not all had arrived, some confusion at the parts department as to what exactly a wheel box is. Pick up two tomorrow am.
Got the wipers working after a fashion with the old wiper boxes.
One of which has a shaft like a bannana.
Am now drying out after getting wet through sorting them out.
Things not mentioned when removing the wiper motor:
1. "slacken and remove the two retaining screas and mounting clamp"
BE AWARE; in the engine compartment the two retaining screws from the passenger side cab need to engage with a metal bar that has two nuts welded to each end in order to effect a secure mount.
... and what happens if this bar is loose, and falls out when you are trying to re-fit the bleedin wipermotor single handedly???
2. "remove the motor and cable assembly from the vehicle"
BE AWARE; If the drive cable is fooked then everything seizes. SOLID.
... then need a full strip out of the upper facia, demister bits and loosen the instrument binnacle, and the control levers for the hot / cold bit on the RHS of the instrument binnacle. Then undo the 4no bolts on the wheel boxes such that the cable can be detached from the teeth in the wheel boxes.
THEN buy 2no more wheel boxes, 2no arms and 2no of those funny black top hat shaped splined adaptor things that are secured with poxy little allan keys.
More bleedin chew on a rainy day in a field.
Then go and wash everything and self with megga grease cleaner.
