Sounds like a plan I'll consider it next time but I might take to buying the 20L drums instead though, theres a chinese supermarket in town so I reckon they might sell the drums of oil, be far faster that way and possibly cheaper

Price just gone up .. Just bought a 20l tin yesterday, £21.99 at local Cash & Carry, it was £19.99 three weeks ago ...

Still cheaper than derv though! I found out the local petrol station sells liquid paraffin on pump……anyone know if that works ?

I were thinking mixed with derv was wondering if it was like kerosene, if not the local tratter shop has drums of hydraulic oil, robint says he's run his on this before
hydraulic oil cost more than derv around £40 for 25L

if ya fillin with 1 lt bottles.. have a stanley knife in yr hand and punch hole in bottom when ya tip bottle upside down...

lets air in bottom and they then empty in seconds...

Got home from work and went to shift the landy forwards to reserve the parking..... Bugger... My key fob wasn't working???:confused::confused:

I don't really want to p** the neighbours off at 6am by setting the alarm off so I checked the voltage at the jump socket. 0.05v..... WTF???:confused::confused:

I nervously unlocked the back door and checked the obvious.... yep..... Some knob jockey (me:eek:) had accidently knocked the urn on when he was rummaging around in the back of it earlier on this week.:doh::doh:

Jump starting my landy with my truck would take a while cos my truck is 24v and it takes a while to get the charge high enough to start a 12v vehicle with a big battery (my battery is 1000cca) which would mean having the truck running for quite a while which would again annoy the neighbours. I didn't really want to go for a drive either in case I lost the parking spaces while I was gone. I decided the best course of action was to fit the emergency leisure battery that I keep in the back for just such an occasion.

A quick battery change later and the old girl sprang into life..... I just have to psych myself up now to carry the mahoosive truck size battery the 5 minute walk to my house.:(

Being the lazy git that I am I haven't bolted the spare battery down either as I know it's only fitted to allow me to move the landy again later when the ballast gets home.
