Rebuilt my poorly winch and fitted fair leads and mounted winch ready to spool new cable on THEN IT ****ED DOWN AND I LOST INTEREST .......

was a great day though and although ive got some repairs to do have had great fun in the disco again:)
 
Changed me down pipe that was split down the weld and had a huge hole in it (explains the horrific noise its been making) WIred in a second set of headlamps with full dipped and main beam capability, and cut the templates out for 6x9 speakers for the back. Also re-inflated the front tyres that seem to like to lose air in this temperature :(
 
Thought to myself, "it's time to buy some hypoid oil, ATF, and fill up the grease gun." Next week some time, I'll be underneath the bitch and draining and refilling all her orifices:)
 
Booked her in for a full underbody/engine steam clean to get rid of the general grime in the engine bay and the years of waxoyl on the underside. It seems that rather than just 'top-up' the waxoyl, the previous owner just completely resprayed over the top, religiously, every year.
Yesterday I decided to drop the fuel tank to fix a leaky sender gasket. I had to grind off all the bolts securing the tow-ball assembly to the cross-member and chassis, as were so rusty as to be now single pieces. Junked the whole assembly and support rods as I'm not gonna tow anything. Looking at the tank, I can't even see the sender and the bolts that hold it to the vehicle, as there is so much gunk covering everything. Hence the steam clean appointment.
Once it's cleaned, I'll look at the tank again.
 
Spent over 2 hours in tyre place trying to get a seal on the alloy rims - no joy! :deadhorse:Why are alloys fitted when they are prone to problems? Felt sorry for the guy as he tries everything..said the alloy would need sandblasting and re-coated. Only good news is that they didn't charge a penny as they never fixed the leak.
 
drained my gearbox and transfer box oils as my gearbox decided to throw a fit and chew something inside up so needs to come out. just a pain as all seemed good when it when in when i put the 90 together :mad2::mad::mad2:
